Inductees to the Bluebird Alumni Hall of Fame
Bluebird Experience has had the pleasure of working with so many talented people over the past 13 years. The ages of our volunteers have ranged from two to eighty-two. With so many fledglings of our own, we are creating a Bluebird Alumni Hall of Fame to showcase the accomplishments of our team members.
Our first inductees into the Bluebird Alumni Hall of Fame are Breanna Bortner and Sam Plasch!
Breanna Bortner: Glen Ellyn, IL
Breanna was a Bluebird Team Member from January 2015 – January 2017. She fledged from being an Advisor of Bluebird Experience into an HR position in corporate America, to starting her own business! Her nomination into the Bluebird Hall of Fame comes from her milestone achievement of starting her own business and using her entrepreneurial skills to manifest her professional goals! Breanna is the creator of Breanna’s Business Boutique. Here are her inspirations and motives for creating her own business.
“I have always felt that I had an entrepreneurial spirit. This is something that was sparked throughout my experiences while working alongside the Bluebird Experience team. My passion was fueled knowing the community was benefitting from all of the behind-the-scenes work we were doing. I loved being able to think outside the box and make ideas come to life.
Since stepping into corporate America, I had been feeling very uninspired. In October 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business. To live this dream out, I took aspects of my previous roles that I enjoyed and now offer them as services within my very own Virtual Assistant business.
I named my business “Breanna’s Business Boutique” because I want to be a small, exclusive business that offers customized services. My goal is to help small businesses and entrepreneurs better align themselves with their business. By taking on admin tasks such as calendar management, marketing, and reporting, business owners can use their time to work on more strategic business goals. I look forward to what the future has to offer as a small business owner!
Breanna’s work can be done 100% remotely. If you’d like to learn more, check out the links below!

Sam Plasch: Chippewa Falls, WI
Sam was a Bluebird Team Member from March 2015 – September 2017 and is now an Art Teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School. She’s known for her talent as an artist, educator, and community advocate. Her Hall of Fame nomination comes from her creation of the Little Free Art House – inspired by the Little Free Library movement, the Little Free Art House aims to provide free art supplies to students and the community with a “take what you need, give when you can” mentality.
“Beyond providing access to art supplies for my students while they are learning virtually, my goal is to build a sense of community and establish a space where we can create ‘together’, even when we are unable to be together physically. Think of it as a teeny tiny community art center,” explains Sam when asked her vision for the project.
The Little Free Art House is located on the corner of West Willow and Mansir St., in Chippewa Falls, WI. If you’d like more information please visit https://littlefreearthouse.weebly.com/.
Donations are accepted by dropping materials off directly into the art house, dropping or sending donations to the main office of Hillcrest Elementary (1200 Miles Street, Chippewa Falls, WI, 54729 (Attn. Sam Plasch), or mail a check, addressed to "Art" to Hillcrest Elementary to be used for supply replenishment
